Join textile artist Rachel Watkins in our bright riverside room to make a colourful wall hanging for your home. Learn the exciting creative technique of weaving loose fibres on a frame loom in your own design. Rachel will guide you through the whole process from choosing colours to stringing the loom and finishing techniques. All materials required to complete your wall hanging will be provided including a frame loom, weaving tools, an oak dowel and a wide selection of luxurious natural yarns and recycled fibres to choose from on the day. Your finished wall art will measure approximately 20cm wide x 40 cm long . Please feel free to bring along a packed lunch or plan to visit one of our nearby cafes for lunch, tea and coffee will be supplied. About your workshop leader Rachel Watkins Rachel’s life long passion for making things with wool, led her to discover the art of small frame loom weaving a decade or so ago, igniting a love for tactile and colourful fibre creations. She draws inspiration from the beauty of the world around her, transforming these elements into inviting artwork for the home. As the workshop leader, Rachel brings a wealth of experience as a learning and development specialist, and will utilise her group facilitation skills to create a welcoming, fun and friendly atmosphere for all participants. She invites you to come and tap into your inner creativity, learn new skills and revel in the joy of crafting with luxurious natural fibres
