LEARN: Rewoven: Loved and Mended
Hands-on hand-embroidery workshop with Beth Philpot to repair and embellish a favourite garment
Part of Rewoven — a season of textile repair and reuse
We all have something — a favourite jumper with a worn elbow, a shirt that's been at the back of the wardrobe. This workshop is the place to bring that thing back.
Guided by textile artist Beth Philpot, whose intricate work is rooted in the rich textures of the Devon landscape, you'll use hand embroidery to repair, embellish and breathe new life into a piece of clothing you already love. Whether you're covering a hole, reinforcing a seam or simply adding something beautiful to a plain old favourite, Beth will guide you through the techniques and help you find an approach that suits your piece.
No embroidery experience needed — just bring the garment and a willingness to look at it differently.
What to bring: one or two items of clothing you'd like to mend or embellish - a jumper, jeans, shirt, top or T-shirt would be ideal. All embroidery materials provided.
