Join us this October half-term for a festive and creative Pottery Gingerbread House Workshop, perfect for young people aged 12+ and adults alike! In this fun and hands-on session, you'll be guided by ceramicist Helen McCormick as you learn how to build and decorate your very own charming gingerbread house using traditional hand building techniques. Whether you're new to pottery or have some experience, this workshop is designed to help you tap into your creativity and bring your unique gingerbread house to life. Helen will lead you step-by-step through the process of shaping the clay, adding delightful details like windows, doors, and festive embellishments. You’ll also have the opportunity to decorate your house with intricate textures, creating a piece that will make the perfect holiday decoration! All materials and equipment will be provided, it's suitable for those aged 12+ not younger and under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. If you are accompanying a young person and want to join in yourself please purchase your own ticket as well. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes, and if possible, trim any long nails to help with the clay work. After the workshop, your gingerbread house will be carefully fired in Helen's kiln and returned to you, ready to add a festive touch to your home in time for Christmas! Your completed gingerbread house will be available for collection approximately 6 weeks after the workshop, and we’ll notify you of the collection date and time. It’s the perfect creative experience for getting into the festive spirit early, so book your place today! Please feel free to bring along a packed lunch to enjoy in your lunch break, tea and coffee will be available in the workshop room. The workshop runs 10:15 - 16:45 No unaccompanied children, MUST be aged 12+ Young people attending MUST be aged 12+ and MUST be accompanied by an adult aged 18+. Adults can accompany children and not make (no ticket) and just be there to support child OR they can purchase a ticket for themselves and make as well.
