LEARN: Embroidered Meadow
Learn · Activities · 18+
There's something about a summer meadow that stays with you — the layered colours, the movement, the feeling of warmth in every stem and petal. In this day workshop with Devon-based textile artist Beth Philpot, you'll translate all of that into a stitched picture that's genuinely your own. Beth's work is rooted in the flora and landscapes of the south-west, and she brings that grounded, place-connected approach to her teaching. Over the course of the day, you'll work across a range of techniques — free machine embroidery, hand embroidery, fabric painting and needle felting — building up layers of colour and texture to create a piece that feels alive. No two will look the same. By the end of the day, your finished picture will be framed and ready to take home and hang on the wall. No experience is needed — Beth will guide you through everything. All materials and equipment are provided.
