The route is marked out with brown daisy signs from the motorway all the way to Cheddon Fitzpaine. Upon following the sign from Cheddon Fitzpaine, stay on the main road until you reach Hestercombe Gardens. Do not take a turn onto Hestercombe Road as this will take you to the farm and not to Hestercombe Gardens.
Unleash your creative side and make your own Christmas centre piece with Amanda. Learn how to make a willow reindeer using locally sourced Somerset willow. The workshop is suitable for beginners with no experience of willow weaving or those who have already tried it. Amanda will guide you through the process of creating your sculpture step by step and give you options so that you can customise your sculpture.
All materials will be provided, however willow weaving is messy activity so please wear old comfortable clothing or an apron.
About your workshop leader:
"I fell in love with willow at Christmas 2000 when I was a student in a willow weaving workshop, and it has been my material of choice ever since. The willow I use is grown on the Somerset Levels within a mile of my house making it a local and sustainable material. However, being a full-time teacher weaving was just a hobby as I never had the time to fully commit to my art. That all changed in 2022 when after 33 years of teaching I retired and started Amanda Webb Makes creating and selling my sculptures along with sharing my passion through teaching people of all ages how to weave in my workshops."
Please feel free to bring along a packed lunch to enjoy in your lunch break, tea and coffee will be available in the workshop room.
