Irish singer-songwriter John Spillane performs contemporary takes on traditional folk music at the Pavilion Theatre
He has an extensive back catalogue beginning with The Wells of the World (1997), and his songs have been covered by Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Sean Keane and many others.
John is inspired by and encapsulates Irish traditional music in its contemporary form; his music is a reflection of Ireland today. Spillane’s latest release, his most artistically ambitious work to date: Fíoruisce – The Legend of the Lough, won Best Album at the 2025 RTÉ Folk Awards.
