Intro to Coding Workshop: Build & Publish Your First Web Page

Join us at Harold Washington Library Center for an Intro to Coding Workshop!

Your instructor, Amanda Hinchman-Dominguez, has several years of experience in engineering, is a Kotlin GDE, an international technical speaker, and book author, and has been helping thousands of engineers of all skill levels.

• Instead of spending thousands to hire someone to build your site, why not learn to build it yourself?

• New to programming?

This workshop is the perfect opportunity to kickstart your tech career. You’ll leave with a live code portfolio to show recruiters that you have hands-on experience coding.

Jumpstart your coding into the world of coding! By the end of this class, attendees will:

• Understand how HTML and CSS work together.

• Build a basic webpage from scratch.

• Publish webpage on Github to start your online portfolio

• Leave with confidence to continue their coding journey.

Whether you're looking to get your foot in the door in tech, or want to build a website of your own, this class is for you.

Registration is required! Participants are welcome to bring their own laptop, or borrow one of ours for the workshop.

Be sure to attend the Chicago Works/Chicago Volunteer Fair on the 9th floor of HWLC starting at 3pm.
