ill. is experienced, written and performed by Rebecca Wilson. Wilson’s one-person, multi-tonal show combines her unparalleled wit, keen intellect, and all-consuming empathy to tell the tales of caregiving for her mother (currently battling ovarian cancer for the third time since her original diagnosis in 2019), family dynamics while caring for both her mother and father during this dark time, her struggles with mental health, unhealthy romantic relationships and addiction.

It also covers finding happiness again through a stint at a Boston psych ward, an Atlanta rehab, learning to practice stoicism, and finally learning to let things go to find lasting peace, presence and purpose. During its 2026 Atlanta Fringe Festival debut, the show has made audiences laugh and feel deeply to the point of free-flowing tears.

Wilson’s show combines honesty and vulnerability with punchlines, and she uses her gifts of stand up and acting to perform her words and experience with energy, connection, realism and heart. The show aims to help the audience approach people going through a mentally suffocating time with curiosity rather than contempt.
