I Live in Fear

In this drama, an elderly businessman struggles to move his reluctant family to South America because he fears nuclear attack. I Live in Fear is the final film in which director Akira Kurosawa wrestles with the demons of the Second World War. It’s also his most literal representation of living in the Atomic Age. Here, Kurosawa depicts a society emerging from the shadows but still terrorized by memories of the past and anxieties for the future.
