Get Folk'd: Acorn Fundraiser
An intimate folk fundraiser at The Acorn featuring Seamus McKenna, Tadhg Cullen and Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals to support the venue
We're delighted to announce this wonderful evening of music platforming exceptional local musicians, presented by Get Folk'd, to raise funds for The Acorn Theatre.
In 2024 artist Seamus McKenna set up his own promotions company - "Get Folk'd!" in response to the decrease in opportunities for local grassroots artists to perform ticketed events. Get Folk'd was set up to counter this and provide artists the stage and audience they deserve. So far they have been a huge success collaborating with renowned grassroots venues such as The Cornish Bank, The Fish Factory, Shoals Brewery, St Germans Priory and many more. Keep your eyes peeled for the next Get Folk'd event.
Get Folk'd values the local scene; music, art and culture should always be built from the ground up wherever possible. Music venues in the UK are facing a crisis and Get Folk'd is running this event specifically to help raise funds for The Acorn Theatre, who work tirelessly to ensure that Penzance has a stage for musicians and creatives to perform on — it is a key venue in the west of Cornwall.
