Garden Play: Calm
Outdoor story time and craft session for children ages 2+ in the Mary Livingston Ripley Garden focused on calm
Join Smithsonian Gardens in the Mary Livingston Ripley Garden for story time, play, a craft, and garden exploration inspired by this month’s topic, calm! And be sure to check out the Growing Tomorrow exhibition about the healing power of gardens.
Location: Find us on the north side of the Mary Livingston Ripley Garden, near the Jefferson Drive, SW entrance to the garden. You can also enter the garden from Independence Avenue, SW between the Hirshhorn Museum and Arts and Industries Building.
About Garden Play
Garden Play is designed for children ages two and up and their caregivers and families. Activities are designed with early learners in mind, but children of all ages are welcome. Parents and guardians must remain with their children. Please come prepared for an outdoor experience. Wildlife and insects, including bees and mosquitoes, are a part of our gardens. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sun protection, and are welcome to bring their own blankets for story time. Activities may be subject to cancellation or modification due to weather conditions. (A little rain won’t keep us away, but we will cancel in the event of a heavy downpour or thunderstorm!)
