Live show by rising hyper‑rock artist h3nce blending punk energy and alternative rock influences.

Informed by internet culture, fashion, video games and the unbound energy of punk icons like the Sex Pistols and Fugazi as well as DIY hero Glaive, h3nce describes his sound as "hyper-rock". Its scrim of high drama allows the 19-year-old to explore how ideas of identity are being mediated by an ever-changing world, playing out like an intimate diary set to an adrenaline rush. h3nce's commitment to creative courage has made him one of his generation's most compelling new voices, unafraid to dismantle genre boundaries and rebuild them on his own terms. "My goal is to be the person that makes alternative rock cool for teenagers again," he explains, noting Nirvana and Soundgarden as other key inspirations. Born Henri Schamann, h3nce learned the rules early – making them all the easier to break. By the time he released his debut EP WRITE IT ON YOUR FLAGS in late 2025, the producer and multi-instrumentalist had spent over a decade exploring sound. He trained in the classical discipline as a child, but eventually rejected rigid instruction, creating demos in his bedroom and learning production as a way of self-exploration. Music soon became h3nce's way of navigating confusing headspaces: finding one's place in the world, falling in and out of love, watching friends break promises and fall into spirals of substance abuse; each second of WRITE IT ON YOUR FLAGS saturated with meaning. In the past year alone, he has garnered over 16 million streams while building an adoring cult following on platforms like Discord and Instagram, who revere h3nce for his emotional honesty. Clocking in at just over two minutes, 2024 breakout single 'VICTIM TO MY BRAIN' was a breathless introduction to h3nce's evocative blend of indie-rock, digicore and grunge. Veering between chaos and clarity where tenderness clashed with distortion, the track felt like a full-body jolt, leading to widespread press acclaim and an European support tour slot for scene-leader ThxSoMch. The latter achievement was particularly significant for h3nce. Raised on the internet and mesmerised by the hyperpop underground, he spent years practicing manifestation, until a long-held ambition became reality: touring alongside one of the artists who first inspired him. "I love to dream. If you work hard enough, dreams can come true," he notes. h3nce's own headline performances have been equally pivotal to his early career. He has been able to create spaces where fans gather, often travelling from far and wide, and sign the white flag from his EP cover, make new friendships in the moshpit, or form hours-long queues outside his shows. With a European tour booked for September, as well as an appearance at Y Not Festival in July, further strengthening his stature on the live circuit is at the top of the agenda. As h3nce prepares for his biggest year yet, he emphasises just how much inner peace writing, recording, and performing has brought him. It's a singular blend of tranquility and catharsis he hopes he can p
