Expression — From Rhythm to Runway

The Fusion Project 2026 Annual Showcase, Expression: From Rhythm to Runway, is an immersive cultural experience where fashion, music, and performance collide. This year’s showcase explores the powerful relationship between music and fashion. More than a traditional runway, Expression unfolds as a live, multi-sensory performance, inviting audiences into a world where garments move with meaning and stories are told through beat, texture, and form.

An initiative of Charlene Sauerman Couture, The Fusion Project’s design students translate personal heritage, cultural influences, and creative rebellion into bold couture statements. Sharing the stage with the designers are an exciting lineup of performers from Kwena Music, including Faker Streets, Ruben Gerritz and The Divas. Together, these artists create a collaborative dialogue between sound and style, transforming the catwalk into a living, breathing performance space where music and fashion become one.

As a special highlight, audiences will also enjoy a guest appearance by celebrated South African couturier Jacques Lagrange, adding an extra touch of glamour and industry prestige to this unforgettable showcase. This is fashion as performance. This is sound made visible. This is Expression.
