Norwegian ute.rec co-founder Ekkel plays extended psychedelic trance and breaks with support from Oslo DJ Knitre
Ekkel
Ekkel is the co-founder of Norway’s ute.rec crew that grew from smoke-filled mornings on the Norwegian forest floor to showcases at Bassiani and bush parties in Australia. Founded in 2017, the Ute label has a cult following for its approach to psychedelic trance as well as long-form downtempo and chillout sounds on sublabels Sinensis and Translusid. From the studio he produces a modern take on Nordic electronic of the ’90s that is both mental and progressive, diving into breaks and percussive trips as Ekkel.
Together with Mikkel Rev and Oprofessionell he is part of Solar Alliance, a live project that unfurls extended trance journeys recorded and arranged in days. He also contributes to projects like Ipeo, The Dosadi Experiments, Alvar and H25 and is a staple of the underground.
Knitre
Hailing from Oslo’s underground, Knitre has been collecting records and strange sounds since an early age. What began as a fascination with music evolved into a passion for DJing, turning years of digging into hypnotic journeys on the dancefloor.
