Dungeons & Dragons at the Library
For grades 3-5 · Children's Programs · School Age (K-5) · Children
Never split the party! Are you ready to embark on a fantasy adventure where you solve problems, fight monsters, and visit wondrous places? Dungeons & Dragons invites you to play imaginary adventurers who do amazing things and build friendships amid fantastical dangers. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, all are welcome!
How is this group structured? We'll have experienced adult DM volunteers leading several different groups of 3-6 players each with children in similar age ranges. However, we are always looking for more help so we can accommodate more players! Youth volunteers are also welcome to join us, as well! More volunteer information is available here: https://cuyahogalibrary.org/support/volunteer#steam
If you have any questions, please contact the Fairview Park Branch's Children's Services Supervisor Alex Ward at [email protected]
Why is the library hosting Dungeons & Dragons? Great question! As explained in the official D&D Educator Guide, D&D gives youth the opportunity to solve problems during imaginary adventures while making real-world connections. This game reinforces language arts, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills as players explore fantastic realms, undertake challenging quests, and weigh daring choices in a world brought to life by their own imaginations.
