Dominic Miller • Edinburgh
Dominic Miller, best known as Sting’s longtime guitarist, is also an acclaimed solo artist with 12 albums to his name. Born in Buenos Aires to an American father and Irish mother, he studied at Berklee College in Boston and London’s Guildhall School of Music. Since the late 1980s, he has worked with artists including Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Tina Turner and Bryan Adams. He has appeared on every Sting album since The Soul Cages (1991), played more than 2,000 concerts with him and co-written classics including “Shape of My Heart”.
Miller’s live performances are celebrated for their intimate, cinematic atmosphere, blending jazz, Latin, folk and classical influences. Whether solo or with his quartet, he combines virtuoso fingerstyle guitar with expressive compositions and dynamic interplay between the musicians.
Audiences can expect music from his acclaimed ECM catalogue, including Vagabond and Absinthe, alongside fresh, jazz-infused interpretations of Sting and Police favourites such as “Fields of Gold”. Praised for his warmth and understated stage presence, Miller creates a setting that feels more like a private performance than a stadium show.
