
Design It: xTool Studio Parametric Box Tool

Design and build a functional box using xTool Studio and the xTool laser cutter. This intermediate workshop is intended for users who are already certified to operate the xTool laser cutter and want to expand their digital fabrication and assembly skills through a practical project.
Participants will learn how to create a laser-cut box using a parametric box generator, prepare files for efficient cutting, and assemble a durable box using interlocking construction techniques.
You will customize your box design in this class and then book time on the xTool laser cutter to cut and assemble your box.
What you will learn:
• How to set up an xTool Studio account
• Basic navigation of the software
• Better understanding of vectors for cutting and images for engraving
• How to dimension and change inputs in the box generator tool
• Basic edits and customizations after generating the box
Who Should Attend:
• xTool certified users wanting to expand their knowledge and explore the different features of the xTool laser
• xTool certified hobbyists and crafters looking to create personalized items
• This class is intended for people 15 years of age or older
• It is recommended that participants are comfortable typing, mousing, and navigating computer files and folders.
**This class will concentrate on designing with xTool Studio. You will NOT laser cut or assemble your book box during the class. You will need to book time on the xTool laser to cut your box.**
Registration for this class begins at 9am on August 12.
