In this workshop, you will learn:
• Where to find inspiration for your space • What materials work well outdoors • How to design the layout of your garden, patio, or yard for maximum enjoyment • The art of whimsy: How to incorporate your personality and passions into your space in a fun and inviting way
This workshop is for anyone who has an outdoor space (Any outdoor space! Even a tiny apartment balcony) that you’d like to elevate into a place of creative expression and joy.
You’ll leave with practical ideas for designing meaningful outdoor spaces that reflect who you are and what you love.
ellafae (Elizabeth Palmisano) is a Charlotte-based public artist whose work has been recognized in Queen City Nerve’s Best in the Nest Awards, including Best Visual Artist in 2020, 2022, and 2025, and Best New Public Art in 2023 for the NoDa Cloud Wall. Her work includes large-scale public art, community-based installations, and immersive creative experiences that invite reflection, connection, and shared experience. In addition to her art practice, she is a master teaching artist and Program Director of the Art Beyond Foundation.
