Chronically Hopeful
Dance / Interdisciplinary / Music · Musici Ireland
Presented by Dublin Fringe Festival
I've seen the psychiatrist, the gastroenterologist, the neurologist, the ophthalmologist, the homoeopathic healer, the chiropractor, the aromatherapist. The Exorcist? Honestly, at this point, I'm gagging for an exorcism.
Blending live music, movement, text and striking visual design, and created by artists living with chronic illness and unseen disability, this immersive performance reveals the hidden, often messy truth behind "I'm fine": the cost of getting out of bed, the absurdity of medical bureaucracy, the sting of being left out, and the beauty and solidarity that make it possible to carry on.
Warnings: Contains sexual references
