Challenge the Chess Champion

Apply your knowledge and test your skills against West Boulevard Library's local chess champions! Each player will play up to four other players at once, in a timed chess match. The first player to win against all four opponents will be crowned the West Boulevard Library - Chess Champion and will defend their title in a head-to-head match against the next player to accomplish the same feat. The reigning Chess Champion, at the end of the session, will have their name and title displayed in a prominent area inside the West Boulevard Library until the title is ceded.

Not interested in competing and looking for a more relaxed game? Come on in and enjoy a leisurely pickup game with other local players. A West Boulevard Library staff member will also be available throughout the session to offer information on the foundational principles of chess and elaborate on how it encourages cooperation, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

All ages and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate!
