Basic Computer Skills for Beginners
Four-day beginner course at Oxon Hill Library teaching basic Windows skills, file management and email (Aug 3–6).
After this 4-day course, participants will be able to:
• Identify basic computer components and operating system features
• Execute basic mouse techniques
• Perform basic keyboard strokes and functions
• Identify and navigate the features of the Desktop
• Open and exit software programs
• Identify and navigate the various toolbars of the Windows environment
• Create and save a document to the Desktop or to a flash drive (please bring your own flash drive)
Four-day series; Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Day 1: Monday, August 3 - Hardware & Mouse Skills Practice
Day 2: Tuesday, August 4 - Software & Keyboard Practice
Day 3: Wednesday, August 5 - File Management
Day 4: Thursday, August 6 - Internet & Email
