Author Talk with Eleanor Vincent

Join us for an engaging evening with local author Eleanor Vincent.

She will read a short passage from her memoir “Disconnected: Portrait of a Neurodiverse Marriage”, share insights into her writing process, and answer questions curated by the Tri-Valley Readers. If time permits, attendees will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions.

Light refreshments will be available while supplies last. All are welcome; no registration required.

About the Book, “Disconnected”

Eleanor Vincent’s memoir, "Disconnected: Portrait of a Neurodiverse Marriage" (Vine Leaves Press, 2024) tells the story of a high conflict marriage with an autistic partner. It won a 2025 Hoffer Award honorable mention in memoir. It shows the impact neurodivergence can have on relationships and provides resources for couples with opposite brain wiring.

About the Author, Eleanor Vincent

Eleanor Vincent is a memoirist and essayist whose work has been recognized by the Feminist Writers' Guild and published in numerous journals and anthologies. Her memoir, "Disconnected: Portrait of a Neurodiverse Marriage" won a Hoffer Award honorable mention and was published by Vine Leaves Press in 2024. Her previous memoir, "Swimming with Maya: A Mother's Story" (Dream of Things, 2013) has twice been on The New York Times e-book bestseller list and was a finalist for the Independent Publisher of the Year Award. Her essays have appeared in anthologies by Creative Nonfiction and This I Believe, the literary magazines, Chicago Story Press, 580 Split, and Dorothy Parker's Ashes, as well as shorter pieces in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Sacramento Bee, and Generations Today. She has an MFA in creative writing from Mills College and is a member of the Author's Guild, the San Francisco Writers Grotto, and Left Margin Lit. She has taught creative nonfiction seminars at Mills College as a visiting writer and been awarded residencies at Hedgebrook, the Vermont Studio Center, and Between the Vines. She lives in Walnut Creek, California.

Founded earlier this year in San Ramon, Tri-Valley Readers is a women's book club that serves inland East Bay.
