August | Open Studio for 55+

Join Contemporary Calgary at our drop-in Open Studio Session for 55+ on Wednesdays in August. During this informal art-making drop-in session, participants are invited to bring their own projects along with any art and craft materials they are currently using. This time can be used not only for creating but also for connecting with other artists, fostering collaboration and inspiration.

In August we’ll be discussing grant writing. For adults age 55+. FREE and no registration is required; simply check in with a gallery attendant at the front desk by signing your name each time on the sign-in sheet.

August 5, 2026 August 12, 2026 August 19, 2026 — Off-site activity on August 19 from 1:45–4:00 PM for exhibition tour(s) at AFA art house (150 9 Ave SW); if you are interested please sign up with staff.

August 26, 2026 — On-site workshop on August 26 from 2:00–3:30 PM with Melisa Centofanti.

By checking in with us at front desk to participate in this session, you agree to follow Contemporary Calgary staff instructions, treat all staff, participants, and other visitors with respect, and behave in a safe and prudent manner. Participants who do not comply with these rules may be temporarily or permanently suspended from the program.
