An Evening with folk diva Vikki Clayton
An intimate evening of contemporary and traditional folk with Vikki Clayton, supported by Barry Hunt at The Acorn
Without any shadow of doubt Vikki Clayton is one of the best and most famous female folk singers this country has produced in the past forty years. She first came to prominence when she was a member of cult folk band "Ragged Heroes"; after departing that band she went on to forge a hugely successful solo career. She has released eight critically acclaimed solo albums.
Vikki Clayton is an outstanding singer songwriter and performer and she is guaranteed to give the audience at The Acorn Theatre a night of the very best contemporary and traditional folk music. This is a show no lover of folk music in Cornwall will want to miss.
With support from Barry Hunt, who has spent over five decades as a performer and played in many bands across blues, folk, rock, cabaret, comedy, country, funk and soul. He has recorded three solo CDs and been involved in five band albums and achieved a masters degree in songwriting. His notable appearances have included the Cavern Club, Ronnie Scott's (Birmingham) and Sidmouth Folk Festival; since moving to Cornwall he has played across the duchy including a solo show at Penzance's Acorn Theatre.
