Great Mass in C minor - Philharmonia Orchestra
The Euphoria Season closes with Mozart *Great Mass in C minor*, one of the mightiest and most moving choral pieces in music history, written when he was 27. The Mass was first performed at St. Peter's Church in Salzburg in 1783. Impressive not only for its monumentality and musical beauty but also for its fragmentary state, much speculation exists as to why it was abandoned unfinished, fascinating scholars and performers for decades. We welcome rising star conductor **Tess Jackson** leading the **Philharmonia Orchestra**, four soloists of the new generation **Olivia Warburton**, **Anita Monserrat**, **Daniel Vening** and **Liam Bonthrone**, and a grand double chorus of 80 singers of the **Philharmonia Chorus**, together bringing to life this work of reverence and awe, radiant joy and glittering euphoria.
