A 100 km spring cycling tour through the Betuwe and Veluwe with climbs near Doorwerth and a midroute checkpoint
On the day that the professional opens the season in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, including the Wall of Geraardsbergen, the Versnellertje Ochten organizes the first tour of the new cycling season.
The Versnellertje proposes a 100-kilometre tour through the Veluwe landscape. From the start and finish location the route continues via a new section through the Betuwe landscape toward Doorwerth. Discover the Italian road: a winding climb through forest with two hairpin turns that gives a Flemish-like feel. After Doorwerth the route follows the beautiful roads of the Veluwe landscape.
Halfway through the tour there is a checkpoint. Fifteen kilometres before the finish there are several short climbs in the Rhenish forest where you can test your legs and those of your cycling friends.
