Rooftop Rhythms: Chen Baker
Arts & Culture · Performing Arts · Adults · All Ages · Live Music at VPL
Enjoy free jazz-ish concerts throughout July and August on the roof of the Central Library, one of Vancouver's most beautiful public spaces! Our Summer concert series Rooftop Rhythms has something for everyone !
Chen Baker is a jazz-fusion rooted music exploration featuring guitarist Jeffery Chen and his pals. The group performs an eclectic repertoire, including Japanese City Pop, Mandopop, jazz, and soul. No matter the genre and language, the group always makes interactive improvisation and infectious grooves the driving force behind their performances.
To compliment the lazy afternoon of a warm Vancouver summer day, they will be bringing a set of Japanese Jazz Fusion and Jeffery's compositions inspired by the former. Jeffery will be joined by Trent Otter on drums, Alex Cheng on bass, and Brittany Or on keyboard.
