PROSPECT PARK PARTY FOR DEMOCRACY IN BROOKLYN
On Sunday, the Brooklyn Resisters and friends will be making good trouble by hosting a voting party at three locations in Prospect Park. Our tables will feature voter registration status checks and sign-ups, voting information, and expert advice on how to protect our voting rights.
On the party side, we'll be hosting a bake sale for democracy, merch, and musical entertainment. Exact park locations will be updated soon.
Voting rights was a key focus of the late Congressman John Lewis and six years after his death, he passes the baton to us to ensure we protect our democracy. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action.
This event is hosted by the Brooklyn Resisters and occurs outdoors. In the event of dangerous weather, those who sign up to attend will be notified if the event is postponed.
A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
