MUNCHING WITH MOZART AND FRIENDS is a monthly series of free noon-time concerts at the Downtown Branch, sponsored by The Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries and the Santa Cruz County Music Teachers' Association of California.
Low Notes on a High Level
Neil Fairbairn, bassoon and Ivan Rosenblum, piano
Programme includes works by Johann Ernst Galliard, Fryderyk Chopin, William Hurlstone, Camille Saint-Saëns, and an arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Keith Jarrett.
The Musicians
Ivan Rosenblum taught education and music at U.C.S.C. from 1970-80. He has degrees from Queens College and Harvard University, studied with Robert Hagopian and Menahem Pressler, and has been active with Santa Cruz ensembles and as a piano teacher and chamber music coach.
Neil Fairbairn studied with Sherman Walt and William Waterhouse, performed in Britain and the US, taught at Phillips Academy, and has appeared with local Santa Cruz ensembles since moving to the area in 2019.
