Magic Workshop

This workshop is a crash course in the art of magic! Joe Culpepper* will share secret sleight-of-hand techniques and tools for creating magic effects. You will learn how to make objects magically appear, transform, and vanish. Most important of all, you will learn how to think and direct attention like a magician. No previous magic experience necessary. Registration is required. For children ages 8 and up.

* Dr. Joe Culpepper is a magician, magic consultant, and the co-editor-in-chief of the academic journal Circus: Arts, Life and Sciences. He is a former Mitacs Elevate postdoctoral fellow at Cirque du Soleil’s C:Lab and Concordia University. Joe has taught magic and its adaptation to the circus arts at Montreal’s National Circus School, the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-champagne, the Lido in Toulouse, UC Davis in California and beyond. He is a member of London’s Magic Circle and consults for a variety of private and public organizations.
