Community "Living Library" at the Central Library: borrow a "Human Book" and have one-to-one conversations to foster understanding
Join us to engage in a unique "Living Library" program that celebrates the diverse voices and perspectives of our community members in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
A Living Library is a way for people to reach out and connect with individuals in their community that they might not come across in their daily lives. Such events promote tolerance, celebrate differences, and encourage understanding one conversation at a time in a safe environment. During this program, "Readers" (you, our community members) borrow "Human Books" and engage in conversation with them for a scheduled length of time. With a spirit of curiosity, you can explore, connect, and learn about the experiences from community members of different backgrounds.
More details will be available closer to the program date, so be sure to check back soon.
