Level Three Improv: Emotions & Relationships

Take your improv to the next level with emotion, perspective, and high-stakes storytelling. In Level 3, you’ll take your improv training to the next level by making bold emotional choices and creating scenes that feel rich, grounded, and alive. Building on the foundations of Levels 1 and 2, this course will help you bring depth to your characters, connect more fully with scene partners, and raise the stakes in your storytelling. You’ll learn how to heighten both emotion and perspective while exploring long-form group work through The Montage. The class wraps with a student showcase where you’ll put it all into practice. In this course, you’ll explore: Discovering that you are your own best character Being affected in scenes & reacting authentically Tying emotions to your environment on stage Raising the stakes and pulling emotional “ripcords” Recognizing and heightening patterns in scenes Sharing focus in group work Using sweep edits to connect scenes in The Montage Tuesdays, 7-9:30PM Seven weeks, starting July 7 Instructor: Shenelle Peart Prerequisite: Levels 1 and 2 at Stomping Ground Comedy.
