Learn Stage Sword Basics

This introduction to stage sword combat is designed for young artists, ages 7 and older, to safely learn about and practice the art of stage combat. Participants will use lightweight aluminum "practice swords" and learn five "defensive" moves and five "attack" moves. The focus will be on safety, coordinating footwork and sword positions, and learning about telling the story.

Other learning may include safe falling and the illusion of pushing and pulling, and how stage swords differ from actual swords.
