About KETTAMA Born Evan Campbell on May 30, 1997, in Galway, Ireland, KETTAMA grew up in a small Atlantic coast city with a punching-above-its-weight musical culture. At 16, he bought a Launchpad that came bundled with a trial version of Ableton and immediately began experimenting, remaking piano parts from hip-hop tracks he loved. Six months later, teaching himself through online forums and downloaded software, he was producing his own tracks and uploading them to SoundCloud. By 17 he was performing at Galway's legendary Carbon club, where he and his close friend and collaborator Shampain held down the backroom for three years, building their craft in front of small but passionate crowds.

With few clubs to network through in Ireland, KETTAMA relied on music forums and SoundCloud to share his music internationally, and an unexpected booking inquiry from a promoter in China marked the first turning point in his career.
