A Collaborative Creature Crafternoon

Join us on a creative adventure inspired by the Collaborative Creatures exhibition as we make "Creature Covers" and our own mini booklets/portfolios. Participants will begin with a series of fun line drawing exercises designed to spark imagination, surprise, and laughter.

Using these spontaneous sketches as a starting point, you'll transform your drawing into a one-of-a-kind creature by layering colors and maybe a variety of other materials. Creature drawings then come to life as a personalized book cover, where participants create the beginning of a story inspired by your fantastical character.

This hands-on workshop celebrates creativity, collaboration, literacy, and the joy of turning simple marks into extraordinary ideas.
