GIOdynamics — GIOFest Open Improvisation Session
As part of GIOFest, GIOdynamics opens up the festival to anyone who wants to make music.
Led by GIO’s Jer Reid , GIOdynamics is Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra’s regular open improvisation session: a relaxed meeting place for musicians and sound-makers of any background, instrument, aesthetic or level of experience.
Amount of experience of improvising is totally irrelevant. Everyone and all aesthetics are definitely welcome. Writing music is improvising so most people who play music have improvised. Just that these compositions come and go. Just to say don't be put off by the term if you'd like to come and play music with people. The session involves Jer putting whoever drops into small groups for short improvisations of 5-7 minutes.
