BCT Friday Bumps and Babes Playgroup

BCT Bumps and Babes Playgroup for expecting parents and parents of babies up to 1 year old.

The BCT Bumps and Babes playgroup is the place to meet families in Basel. Come connect with new and expecting parents and introduce your baby to their very first friends. This group is especially designed for expecting parents and babies up to one year old. It is a great resource to ask questions and exchange advice with other parents. The BCT's prenatal and postnatal educator, Susie Atkinson, can also share her insider tips to childbirth and parenting in the Basel area.

The group meets at Magical Cafe (Max Kämpf Platz 2, 4058 Basel) on Fridays from 10:30–12:00. The cafe has a play area for small children and a selection of drinks, baked goods, daily soup, and bagels. BCT members who show their digital membership card during the playgroup timeslot receive a discount on purchases.

Attendance to the BCT playgroup is free for BCT members. Non-members may attend two free visits to try the playgroup; afterwards please purchase a membership or pay 5 CHF per visit.

One special feature is that the playgroup is held immediately following Susie Atkinson's Mignon Baby Connected and Contented Baby Course. Mignon Baby is a partner of the BCT and offers pre- and post-natal support courses. BCT members receive discounts on that course but attending the course is not required to join the playgroup.

For families with toddlers and older children consider the BCT Friday Playgroup at Spielgruppe St Johann (9:30–11:30) as a transition when babies outgrow the Bumps and Babes group.

BCT Playgroup Rules

1. Non-members: two free visits, then membership or 5 CHF per visit. 2. Please register for the playgroup via Eventbrite ahead of time to help stay within room capacity limits. 3. Photo policy: avoid taking photos with other children in the background and do not post photos of other children on social media or chats.
