The Magic Book is an interactive performance about wonder, playfulness and the power of learning. This family-friendly show blends magic, storytelling and circus arts to share the joy of reading, foreign languages and other cultures with spectators.
Dr. Joe Culpepper is a magician, magic consultant, and the co-editor-in-chief of the academic journal Circus: Arts, Life and Sciences. He is a former Mitacs Elevate postdoctoral fellow at Cirque du Soleil’s C:Lab and Concordia University. Joe has taught magic and its adaptation to the circus arts at Montreal’s National Circus School, the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne, the Lido in Toulouse, UC Davis in California and beyond. He is a member of London’s Magic Circle and consults for a variety of private and public organizations.
