Solar Observing Party

Astronomers from the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics will set up three types of telescopes: a visible-light telescope with a solar filter, a specialized solar telescope with a hydrogen-alpha filter and a Seestar telescope that displays a live image of the Sun on an iPad. Participants will learn about solar viewing safety.

Outdoor program. Open to all ages of children. Younger children accompanied by caregivers.
