An in-process movement performance blending club and contemporary dance by Chicago duo Najah Iman and Caitlin Wonsowski

"Sixty-Five 14" is an artistic movement piece that works to articulate the complex intertwining of time and identity, reflecting on the past, sharing the present, and being open to the possibilities of the future. It is an in-process performance of human struggle, celebration, and discovery. Caitlin and Najah work together to research psychological patterns that form between humans and our social settings. Utilizing vocabularies from both club and contemporary dance forms, “Sixty-Five 14” intentionally holds space to encourage safety, socialization, and camaraderie among viewers. It is curated to reflect and embrace the ever-changing nature of society and personality.

Najah Iman (she/they) and Caitlin Wonsowski (they/she) are a Chicago-based artistic duo. Their partnership began through their shared passion for improvisation, psychological research, and collaboration while pursuing their undergraduate degrees from Columbia College Chicago. They began creating “Sixty-Five 14” in the summer of 2024. Since its original showing at the 21c Museum Hotel in September of 2024, their work has been selected to be presented in several midwest festivals, such as RADFest, Emergence Festival, and Outlaw of the Arts, and they have been guest performers at NEIU. Their choreography develops from social dance culture in Chicago, and investigative improvisation with an emphasis on always remaining in process and finding comfort in adaptation. Their artistic goal is to challenge people to be critical of the social customs and ideologies we reinforce with systemic societal participation.
