Group exhibition at DOX exploring resilience as a fragile, collective practice through works and shared classroom moments

Resilience doesn’t mean always being strong or dealing with everything stoically. It is a form of resistance that isn’t always visible, but it changes the way we perceive the world. It manifests as an intimate and resolute gesture.

The fourth instalment of the long-term project Point of View once again presents an exhibition and a classroom in one. The artistic approaches here open up a space to slow down and pay attention – a space for shared experience. They allow us to linger with uncertainty, to think and feel at the same time, and to seek strength in fragility. We understand resilience primarily as a quality of relationships: with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. Here art becomes not only a means of exploring resilience but also a test of resilience itself.

The selected works are oftentimes not engaged from positions that would be communicated in the streets. Their engagement takes place on the level of thought, sensitivity, and attention to processes and social relationships. They do not aspire to make an immediate appeal but rather to transform the way we perceive things; they show that if we wish to have an active place in the world, what is needed might not be the loudest voice but rather the ability to remain perceptive, even in a world that is complex, fast-paced, and often uncomfortable.

As with previous exhibitions in the series, the theme of mental resilience stems from ideas suggested by young visitors to DOX.
