TARDES DE ESCUCHA Y REFUGIO
Sesión colectiva de escucha y concierto audiovisual ambient con Josephine’s Soundscapes, DJ Feet y Marco Padiya en Matadero Madrid
Curated by Campos de Marte
Performance by Marco Padiya
With contributions from Marta Echaves (Caja Negra) and Natalia Piñuel
The focus on listening, a feature of the 2025 edition of Un cuarto de estar para la ciudad, is interwoven this year with a reflection on communities — the central theme of this new edition — giving rise to a session conceived around the overarching idea of a ‘listening community’. Building on this notion, the proposal is for a sensitive, shared space for encounter, where listening is no longer understood as an individual experience but becomes a collective practice, capable of forging bonds, fostering affection and shaping ways of inhabiting the shared space.
On Wednesday 22 July, a shared sound session will take place featuring Josephine’s Soundscapes and Marco Padiya, who will bring their aesthetic worlds and listening methodologies into dialogue to create an environment of attentiveness, presence and collective connection. Rebroadcast: Wednesday 22 July at 7 pm on Campos de Marte, presented by Josephine’s Soundscapes. A guided listening session in which various guest speakers will share the stories behind the songs they cherish, explaining how they came to love them. An intimate gathering that will weave together their personal experiences with the music that has shaped them, revealing the invisible currents through which musical knowledge flows thanks to the act of sharing.
Guest contributors: Bea G. Aranda (Cultural journalist), Miguel Tortajada aka Mk Milk (Post Club), Pablo Losa aka DJ Feet (Radio Relativa / F.T.C.N Ediciones), ULTRANESIA (Rubén Coll and José Luis Espejo), Valeria aka Valium (Margarita Electrónica), Deriva
Wednesday 22 July at 9.00 pm, live audiovisual concert by Marco Padiya
Deriva is an immersive, live-performed piece that combines music and imagery to create a space for calm reflection, inner movement and creative reverie. Through soundscapes of ambient music and colourful, abstract visual compositions, the piece invites attendees into a focused collective listening experience.
