Winelands Philharmonic performs Dvořák, Kristi Boonzaaier clarinet Concertino and Sibelius Symphony No 1
Three contrasting works are brought to life by a full orchestra, exploring shifting states of light and shadow. The Noon Witch by Antonín Dvořák offers a dramatic narrative rooted in folklore, while Kristi Boonzaaier’s Clarinet Concertino traces the awakening of a forest from early morning into full clarity. The programme concludes with Symphony No 1 by Jean Sibelius, a work of intensity and lyrical depth, bringing the programme to a powerful close.
