Site-responsive sound performances by Aho Ssan, Carmen Villain, Jin Yanan and KMRU at Waidmarkt exploring memory and urban listening
On July 25, we host the first public event as part of Mapping Waidmarkt, a six-month artistic intervention exploring memory, sound and urban transformation at one of Cologne's most complex sites. Starting from the acoustic exploration of Waidmarkt, the project understands sound as a way of making invisible temporal, material and social layers perceptible.
For the opening event of the second project phase, Aho Ssan, Carmen Villain, Jin Yanan and KMRU present site-responsive performances that resonate with the project's ongoing research into listening, place and collective memory.
