Guided visit of the medieval Lumley Chapel with notable post‑Reformation monuments and local history
Managed by the Churches Conservation Trust, the Lumley Chapel is the remaining part of the medieval parish church of St Dunstan's. First built before the Norman Conquest, it contains many monuments to the villagers of Cheam including John, Lord Lumley and his two wives, which dominate the chapel. The monuments hold many village tales of schoolmasters and schoolboys, priests and lawyers, doctors and farmers, and businessmen and civil servants. A volunteer guide will be present.
