Pioneering electro‑industrial act Front Line Assembly perform early material in Vienna with Rhys Fulber opening
Bill Leeb formed the electro-industrial band in 1986 after he left the industrial group named Skinny Puppy. Many music fans and experts considered the band to be one of the main founders of the music style known as “electro-industrial.” The concept at first was to use it as an experimental project. They evolved into a band that existed full-time.
The band’s debut album was done on an independent record label from Belgium named KK in 1987. It was made on a shoestring budget, recorded on eight track cassettes with 2 or 4 track cuts. The albums Corrosion and Disorder were released in 1988 by Third Mind instead of the Canadian label Nettwerk. Those two records were later released again with three extra songs on the compilation album Convergence the same year, and form part of what is now called “The Wax Trax Years” alongside Gashed Senses and Crossfire.
In Vienna, FLA will perform a set of their early songs. Rhys Fulber will also play an opening set. 20:00 doors 20:15 Rhys Fulber 21:00 Front Line Assembly
