Hands-on kids workshop where grades 2–6 extract strawberry DNA and learn about DNA function and comparison across organisms
Entering grades 2-6. In this introduction to the location and function of DNA in different cells, participants will think critically about the process of DNA extraction using a model. Participants will then extract DNA from a strawberry (or other plant). Afterwards, participants will compare and contrast our DNA and the DNA of other organisms. Materials provided.
