Dead Calm is a band led by Liam McCay, a young Irish musician from County Donegal who records under several aliases including Sign Crushes Motorist and Take Care. His work blends slowcore and indie rock with introspective, melancholic themes. He started on fiddle, moved to guitar during the pandemic, and has released extensive material while keeping a low-key, independent approach to his career.
