Coding with Python - A Three Week Course (Ages 10 -17)
Free six-session Python coding course for 10–17 year olds run by Rocket Robotics at White Oak Library
The Richard Montgomery High School robotics team, Rocket Robotics, is offering a free three-week coding course for middle and high school students to introduce beginners to programming fundamentals using Python. This hands-on course consists of 6 guided sessions covering basic Python syntax, control structures (loops and if statements), arrays, and reusable methods, with the aim of preparing students for further coding and robotics projects.
Experienced high school mentors will provide personalized support and encouragement. Sessions build on each other so participants gain a solid foundation in Python and the confidence to continue exploring technology and robotics. Students are encouraged to attend all six sessions but may sign up for as many or as few as they wish. Laptops are recommended but will be provided if needed.
Course runs June 9–July 14. Registration is required and participation is limited to 15 students. For ages 10 to 17. Questions? Contact White Oak Library at (240) 773-9555.
If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, contact the branch at least one week before the program. To request an accommodation, contact the library branch or call Library Administration at 240-777-0002.
