Born from Brazil’s iconic comedy troupe Hermes & Renato, Massacration is a one-of-a-kind heavy metal phenomenon that fuses world-class musicianship with sharp satire and theatrical flair. Originally conceived as a fictional heavy metal band, the project quickly evolved into a real, unique and electrifying act, blending parody with genuine metal credibility.

Deeply rooted in classic heavy metal traditions, Massacration both celebrates and playfully subverts the genre, drawing inspiration from legends like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest, while delivering lyrics in a mix of intentionally broken English and Portuguese. Their cult appeal lies in this unique balance: a band that can both mock and master the sound of metal in equal measure.

Beyond the humour, Massacration’s musical pedigree is undeniable. Over the years, their live and studio lineups have featured contributions from some of Brazil’s most respected metal musicians, including Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura) and Ricardo Confessori (Angra, Shaman), reinforcing their status as more than just a comedy act.

Taking over The Underworld in Camden this August, the band promises a night that is loud, irreverent, and completely unforgettable.
